Acute liver failure is somewhat rare, which means that smaller centers throughout the United States may not see too many cases in a given year. That rarity was one of the driving forces behind the new American College of Gastroenterology guideline update (Am J Gastroenterol 2023;118[7]:1128-1153), senior author Lafaine Grant, MD, told Gastroenterology & Endoscopy News.
