Even though data are sparse, there have been updates that spurred the revision of the American College of Gastroenterology’s clinical guideline on lower GI bleeding. “There unfortunately haven’t been a lot of randomized controlled trials to help guide management, despite how common a condition lower GI bleeding is,” lead author Neil Sengupta, MD, told Gastroenterology & Endoscopy News. “Despite that, we still wanted to include recommendations because this is a very, very common clinical condition that providers deal with on a daily basis.”

Dr. Sengupta, an associate professor at the University of Chicago Medicine, sat down to talk with GEN managing editor, Sarah Tilyou, about the new guideline. Check out more guidelines and other videos at GastroEndoNews.com/Multimedia
