Dr. Kim, a professor and the chair of Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition at Cleveland Clinic, in Ohio, received the Distinguished Mentor Award at DDW 2025, and she recently spoke with GEN about what makes a good mentor, offering tips for early-career gastroenterologists on how to go about finding a mentor and nurturing these relationships.
“You don’'t always want to have an echo chamber of people who think just like you,” she explained. “You want people who perhaps will challenge you to think differently.”
