Vaginal Swabbing Can Restore Microbiome in C-section Infants  

Microbiome geeks need not fret if their child is born via Cesarean section. Researchers have shown that smearing a neonate with their mother’s vaginal fluid within two minutes of birth can partially transmit the maternal vaginal bacteria

The findings are important given that individuals born through C-section have been shown to carry an increased risk of immune and metabolic disorders, including inflammatory bowel disease, asthma, juvenile arthritis, immune deficiencies and
