Esophageal adenocarcinoma is a lethal cancer that has undergone a dramatic increase in incidence over the last few decades.1 EAC now represents the most common form of esophageal cancer in Western populations and is associated with a dismal 5-year survival rate. Barrett’s esophagus is the only known premalignant condition for EAC.
