VANCOUVER, B.C.—Compared with using moderate fluid replacement in the management of acute pancreatitis, aggressive fluid resuscitation could lead to a higher mortality risk, according to a systematic review and meta-analysis presented at the 2023 annual meeting of the American College of Gastroenterology.
“The study calls for aggressive fluid resuscitation regimens to be reviewed, given that it may increase the mortality rate in acute pancreatitis cases,” said co-investigator
