Noninvasive Tests for NASH: Progress But Not Perfection

The first study of its kind has pinpointed optimal thresholds for two noninvasive tests to identify significant fibrosis among patients with nonalcoholic steatohepatitis.

According to a multicenter team of researchers, these levels for the Fibrosis-4 (FIB-4) score and aspartate aminotransferase-to-platelet ratio index (APRI) can be used to identify significant fibrosis with an acceptable level of accuracy.
