Fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) is safe and well tolerated among patients with inflammatory bowel disease who require treatment for recurrent Clostridioides difficile infection (CDI), according to a new report.
Previous retrospective studies hinted that FMT may worsen IBD activity, but this trial—the first prospective FMT trial in this patient population—indicates that is not the case (Inflamm Bowel Dis 2020 Nov 6;izaa283).
