More standardized screening of patients for Clostridioides difficile infection (CDI), instead of testing for infection only when indicated, may be a cost-effective or cost-saving strategy for hospitals, according to a new study presented at the 2020 virtual IDWeek.
“Hospital-acquired CDI is a common and costly problem,” said Mohamed H. Yassin, MD, PhD, an associate professor of medicine at the University of Pittsburgh. “However, many of these cases are not traced to any
