More Polyps Detected With NBI Than Linked Color Imaging

For colonoscopy technology, newer is not always better.

Narrow band imaging (NBI) significantly outperformed linked color imaging (LCI) in detecting colorectal polyps and adenomas in a study presented at the 2019 Digestive Disease Week (abstract 252).

NBI picked up significantly more polyps, adenomas and serrated adenomas than LCI, but both modalities missed a concerning number of lesions, said Wai Keung Leung, MD, the Li Shu Fan Medical Foundation Professor in Gastroenterology at the University
