Colorectal Cancer May Up Risk for Cardiovascular Disease

Patients with colorectal cancer have a significantly greater risk for developing cardiovascular disease and congestive heart failure, researchers have found.

The study, which identified an absolute increase of 20% for cardiovascular disease and 4% for congestive heart failure 10 years after a diagnosis of CRC, provides the first evidence to support cardiovascular surveillance in this population.
