Too Much Zinc Increases Risk for C. diff

Excessive dietary zinc increases susceptibility to infection by Clostridium difficile, the most common cause of hospital-acquired infections, according to a recent study. The findings call into question the consumption of dietary supplements and cold therapies containing high concentrations of zinc (Nat Med 2016 Sep 26. [Epub ahead of print]).
