Although most GI fellowship programs offer training in neurogastroenterology and GI motility, in many cases that appears to be little more than lip service. A new survey suggests that only about one-fourth of GI fellowship programs meet the minimum standards for training in neurogastroenterology and GI motility—creating a “large unmet gap in trainee needs” in this area, according to the researchers (Figures 1-3).
