Studies explore risks to clinicians from endoscopy

Two new studies pile on more data to what endoscopists already know: Their risk for musculoskeletal injuries is high.

One study focused on third-space endoscopy, such as peroral endoscopic myotomy. The other looked at routine colonoscopy. The researchers involved in both studies argued that more can and should be done to reduce the risk for injury.
