San Diego—After acute diverticulitis, patients have a twofold greater risk for colorectal cancer, and there’s an even greater risk in cases of complicated disease, according to new data presented at the 2022 Digestive Disease Week.
Although some guidelines already call for CRC screening after acute diverticulitis, a new community-based analysis has helped quantify the risk. Screening colonoscopy is likely to be justified in many, if not most, patients with acute diverticulitis, but
