Nearly one-third of all patients who are hospitalized for constipation may be readmitted, according to a new study.
About 32% of 10,361 people admitted for constipation in 2013 were readmitted that same year, for the same or a different condition, the researchers found. Of all the patients, 15% were readmitted within 30 days of discharge.
