Increased C. difficile Risk for Patients in Rooms Previously Occupied by CDI-Infected Patients

A hospitalized patient whose room was previously occupied by someone with Clostridioides difficile infection (CDI) is 27% more likely to become infected with the pathogen than someone whose room did not previously house an infected patient, according to data from nearly 219,000 patients.
