Many Average-Risk Americans Behind On CRC Screening

An analysis of more than 26 million Americans has found that only about half of average-risk adults are up-to-date with colorectal cancer screening, a lower rate than typically cited, according to research presented at the 2022 ASCO Gastrointestinal Cancers Symposium.

According to the CDC, nearly 70% of U.S. adults aged 50 to 75 years have been screened for CRC in accordance with guidelines. But average-risk screening rates are variable and affected by the inclusion of higher-risk individuals
