In patients with non-variceal gastrointestinal bleeding who experience rebleeding after standard endoscopic treatment, over-the-scope clips appear to be more cost-effective than a repeat of the standard approach in all patients regardless of risk, researchers have found. For patients at high risk, clips can be a cost-effective first-line therapy.
The over-the-scope clip (Ovesco) was developed for the closure of small mural defects and received FDA clearance in 2010. Relative to standard
