To increase safety of these endoscopy procedures in high-risk pediatric patients, the North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (NASPGHAN) Pediatric Endoscopy Committee released a comprehensive report, outlining which pediatric patients should be considered high risk, discussing preoperative preparation for the mitigation of risk, and identifying current practices to increase the safety of these procedures.
