For Patients With NAFLD, Mind the Blood Sugar

San Francisco—Improved glucose control significantly reduces levels of a key liver enzyme, according to an analysis of data from a cohort of patients with type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease. The findings indicate that tight glucose control may lead to improvement in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, regardless of body mass index change or underlying liver disease, according to the researchers.
