Bariatric Surgery Keeps NASH at Bay for Years

San Francisco—The benefits of bariatric surgery for the liver appear to be robust and durable, according to a new study showing that obese patients with signs of non-alcoholic steatohepatitis can keep the disease at bay for five years or more if their NASH disappears during the first year after surgery.
