ESD Found Effective for Colitis-Associated Neoplasia in Patients With IBD

WASHINGTON—In the treatment of patients with inflammatory bowel disease and high-risk colitis-associated neoplasia, ESD offers a good chance for en bloc and R0 resections, optimizes histologic assessment, and reduces the risk for recurrence and surgery, according to Roberta Maselli, MD, PhD, the director of advanced therapeutic endoscopy at Humanitas Research Hospital, in Milan.
