Fecal microbiota transplants that alter the gut microbiome could bring relief to people with inflammatory bowel disease who do not respond sufficiently to biologics or small molecules, according to a new review.
“There’s a lot of enthusiasm about the potential of FMT, and rightfully so, but there is also still a lot we need to learn,” said senior review author Jean-Frederic Colombel, MD, the director of the Feinstein IBD Center at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, in
