Nearly half of patients with irritable bowel syndrome also may have overly mobile joints, new research has found.
The findings show the prevalence of joint hypermobility (JH) among IBS patients is substantially higher than the 3% to 20% indicated in previous research.
Between 10% and 20% of the general population has JH, and the condition has been linked to some hallmark symptoms of IBS: abdominal pain, bloating, nausea, reflux, vomiting, constipation and diarrhea. That correlation has been
