Washington—Chronic kidney disease is a predictor of death in patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, according to a study presented at 2018 Digestive Disease Week (abstract 897) that adds to a growing body of research examining the relationship between these two diseases.
Given that non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and chronic kidney disease (CKD) are commonly seen comorbidities in patients with metabolic syndrome, researchers from Inova Fairfax Hospital, in Falls Church, Va.,
