This summer, the American Gastroenterological Association revised its guidelines for IBS with diarrhea and IBS with constipation (Gastroenterology 2022;163[1]:118-136, 137-151). Since the AGA’s first IBS technical review in 2014, new treatments have become available and evidence for some of the existing treatments has grown.
