Transitioning from a fee-for-service model to value-based care can lead to massive improvements in patient outcomes in inflammatory bowel disease, including reduced hospitalizations, visits to the emergency department and relapse rates.
That’s the finding of a group at the University of California, Los Angeles Center for Inflammatory Bowel Diseases, who say the shift “has led to significant reduction in care utilization and associated decrease in medical costs.”
