FDA Approves First Blood-Based CRC Screener

The cell-free DNA blood-based screening test Shield (Guardant) was approved by the FDA.
The FDA has approved the first blood test to screen for colorectal cancer, a cell-free DNA blood-based test called Shield (Guardant).

 

The cfDNA test is available for use in adults 45 years and older who are at average risk for the disease.
