Two studies evaluating the newest iteration of transoral incisionless fundoplication (TIF) to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease found impressive rates of efficacy, with most patients discontinuing proton pump inhibitors in follow-up so far.
Both studies analyzed the enhanced TIF 2.0 technique with objective measures of acid control and changes in symptoms. One study was based on a TIF registry and the other examined efficacy in patients undergoing concomitant hiatal hernia repair.
Based on
