Basal Crypt Dysplasia In Barrett’s Esophagus

Research supports the concept that crypt dysplasia falls on the dysplasia pathway such that Barrett’s esophagus progresses from erosive esophagitis to nondysplastic Barrett’s esophagus, crypt dysplasia, low-grade dysplasia, high-grade dysplasia, adenocarcinoma in situ, and, finally, invasive adenocarcinoma. Further research into this progression will help clarify the risk associated with crypt dysplasia
