Report from DDW '22: BE, EAC Rates Rising in Middle-Aged Patients

Barrett’s esophagus and esophageal cancer diagnoses are rising steadily among 45- to 64-year-olds, according to research presented at Digestive Disease Week 2022. 

Although BE and esophageal cancer occur most often in people older than 65 years of age, the researchers found that the incidence rate for these conditions in older people has plateaued, as at the same time, it is rising sharply among the younger age group.
