SAN DIEGO—Endoscopists need not avoid using advanced endoscopic techniques in patients with cirrhosis, according to a meta-analysis of studies that examined outcomes in this population.
“Our analysis shows endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) and endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) can be both safely and effectively performed in patients with cirrhosis,” said Saurabh Chandan, MD, an assistant professor in the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the Creighton
