Who’s Best at Detecting Serrated Polyps? Academics Top Private Docs

When it comes to detecting serrated adenomas, endoscopists at academic centers outperform community gastroenterologists and colorectal surgeons, despite the fact that adenoma detection rates are similar among the groups.

That’s the conclusion of a new study that found that academic gastroenterologists detected significantly more sessile serrated adenomas and serrated polyps in the proximal colon than other clinicians (Table).
