Olympus has announced the launch of the ScopeLocker Air, a new endoscope drying cabinet that provides continuous airflow through channels and around the outside of the endoscope, which the company said “helps facilitate the drying process and is designed to meet society guidelines for endoscope drying and storage.”
The cabinet is available in two sizes: a 41-inch model that fits up to 18 endoscopes and a 22-inch cabinet that can accommodate eight endoscopes. The cabinets include a built-in air source with an air manifold that connects to the scopes (facilities choose their own air source), as well as rotating scope holders, a padded lower back wall to protect the distal tips and a center separator to keep the scopes from touching. Optional features include keyless entry and LED lighting.
“We are excited to highlight ScopeLocker Air and offer continuing education sessions on reprocessing for the dedicated professionals attending the annual SGNA meeting,” held May 31 to June 3 in Pittsburgh, Olympus Vice President Patrick Romano said in a news release announcing the launch.
The cabinets are manufactured by Capsa Healthcare.
