The risk for covert submucosal invasive cancer after piecemeal endoscopic mucosal resection can be predicted by findings of lymphovascular invasion, poor differentiation and involvement of a deep margin, according to new research.
The researchers, led by Dave Gibson, MBChB, BAO, MD, a gastroenterologist at Alfred Health, in Melbourne, Australia, noted that piecemeal endoscopic mucosal resection (pEMR) is considered first-line treatment for large nonpedunculated colorectal polyps (LNPCPs) larger
