VANCOUVER, B.C.—For more than three years, cold snare polypectomy has been advised for excision of polyps smaller than 1 cm in size. Although only about half of colonoscopists are following this guideline recommendation, those who do are more likely to perform well on other measures of colonoscopy quality, according to the first large-scale study of this practice in the United States.
Overall, removal of small polyps with cold snares was “lower than expected” but there were
