Three new devices are extending the endoscopist’s ability to probe areas of the colon that had been hidden from view.
In several recent trials, clinicians using the Third Eye Retroscope (Avantis Medical Systems), Full Spectrum Endoscope (FUSE, EndoChoice) and EndoRings (US Endoscopy)—all designed to improve visualization behind colonic folds—detected significantly more 1- to 9-mm adenomas than they did using traditional colonoscopy.
